Family violence is behaviors that are committed by people or a person against a family or families. Family violence aims at controlling a family through fear that includes; physical abuse such as beating, sexual abuse such as forcing a person of any gender to engage in sexual activity, emotional and psychological violence such as abuses and having controlling behaviors, damaging of family property either intentionally or unintentionally, activities that cause other family members to feel fear or to feel that they are threatened in the family. Globally cases of family violence are mainly women and sometimes children. In children, it occurs when a child hears, sees, or is growing in an environment of gender violence. Globally and in many countries, family violence is condemned, and young children are prevented from the destruction and other members of the family who may be victims of the force (Lombardi, et al 2002). It was noted that gender violence does not choose as it can affect anyone regardless of their age, gender, sexual identity, cultural background, ability, religion, wealth, status in life, and where they come from.

Family violence is dangerous because it can affect one’s mental health and physical health and lead to social and community issues such as homelessness. The violence has adverse effects on the family in which may include; physical injuries, hearing and vision loss, miscarriage, sexually transmitted diseases, gynecological problems, post-traumatic and stress disorder (Vives-Cases, et al2017). According to the Victorian Royal Commission into family violence confirmed that while men might be victims of violence, others might occur outside the home setting. In contrast, violence against women is mainly perpetrated by their life partner. The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ personal safety survey done in 2012 showed that more than 90 percent of men and more than 80 men have experienced violence from their lovers but have never contacted or complained to the police. According to their study, one in three women had experienced physical violence since the age of 15, and nearly one in five women had experienced sexual abuse since the age of 15. Lastly, more than 16 percent of the women have experienced violence by the current or previous partner since the age of 15 (Peterman, et al 2020).

In Australia, many organizations have started fighting for the rights of women and children who are affected by family violence are suffering or are homeless. One of the organizations condemning family violence in Australia is the Red fern right center established the women domestic violence court in 190 to provide a range of legal and support system for women and children who were seeking apprehended violence orders, and they provide holistic service model including a safe room that is a temporary home to the homeless as a result of violence. The Red fern right center is guided by the following critical values, as explained below.

Making a difference – this is their principal value, which is aimed at changing the nature of issues. The organization strives to make a difference in reducing the rate of violence in women and children. The organization stands for them and supporting them in all that they are going to pursue after the crime has been committed. This is by starting safe houses to house women and children when they have been chased away or having a court case that they are battling as a result of the violence (Kelly, L. (2016).

Accomplishing promises – the people involved should be secretive on the issues raised by the affected women and children to build confidence for them to open up. This is because some domestic items are susceptible and can only be disclosed to people who show concern and loyalty and are ready to help the affected people to get justice. By keeping promises, they build confidence among the people who seek help there, and also those going through gender violence can confidently go and seek advice there because of the organization secrecy and good work.

Honest – honest is a virtue that should be emulated by every organization to succeed and become useful. Honesty, therefore, is the act of being truthful and transparent. Members of the organization are supposed to be honest, while giving advice and offering solutions. They are also supposed to be frank when handling funds donated by good wishes and other institutions like the government to fund and support the institution’s activities. There should be transparency even when allocating duties and when choosing the client to be helped without looking at their status in the society of relationship with the people involved and legal experts.

Accountable – accountability is seen through how the institution spends the funds available and an individual’s ability to handle issues that are given by the organization, responsibility also is seen when one can protect the information of those being supported by the organization to themselves and the organization only. To perform effectively, they are given funds by the government, donors, and grants; thus, accountability is seen by how they spend their money to the last. Leaders are also supposed to be accountable for the cases and protect them against the violence perpetrators or their spouses.

The chief organization’s objective is to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence and assault. The outcome has been seen in that the numbers of cases reported have drastically reduced since the organization was established. Domestic violence and assault causing homelessness have diminished as the organization provides legal counsel in court, counsels the affected parties, and provides safe houses for the affected. After presenting the services, the organization follows up to ensure that the clients that they helped are living well and are not mistreated again. Another principal aim of the organization is to provide housing for women and children who experience domestic violence ( Carnevale et al., 2020). y implementing the homelessness service Bin order to improve the housing options, including protection against assault when the client is still at home.

The organization is also aimed at reducing deaths related to domestic violence. This is through ensuring that they offer all-around support to those who have experienced family violence, thus reducing the number of deaths. To reduce the amount of destruction, the organization has championed legislation that gives a substantial penalty to those who perpetrate violence against women and children who are mainly regarded as the weak in society.

The organization wants to implement laws that are going to be followed to end domestic violence. They are tasked at educating the society on the norms and values that are supposed to be followed to eradicate violence. They also provide safe environments by providing safe environments such as identifying hotspots for violence by addressing local causes through problem-oriented laws and intervention.

In summary, violence against women and children is rampant in society and is perpetrated by the people close to the affected. It is estimated that globally about 1 billion women and children are assaulted annually. Still, through the effort of the government and non-government organizations, all this can be eradicated, and a society free of violence can be created because violence has a lifelong impact on the health and well-being of the children and can lead to death in women. Non-governmental organizations are doing a great job in eradicating this vice from the society.
