SUBJECT: Resolution of Internal Battles Associated with Large Customer
Following an internal review of staff relationships, company X managed to identify numerous workers’ conflicts. Most of the conflicts are associated with competition to serve large customers. As a director of internal policy-making, I have noted reduced morale among workers, particularly those who lacked the opportunity to serve large customers. Therefore, I would want to inform all employees of the company that everyone will have an opportunity to serve customers who purchase products in bulk.
For the procedure to be effective, the organization’s rewarding system will change. In the past, the company reward system was based on individual performance. According to our internal reviews on workers operating environment, we identified our reward system as a major problem that instigates competition to serve large customers. Therefore there is a need to have a collaborative working environment and shared goal to provide unity of purpose to all staff. I recommend a team-based performance appraisal model because it will reduce cases of resentment among staff for failure to serve consumers who transact large purchases.
Lack of a clear framework for work assignments on different departments is also a factor contributing to employee conflicts. Without a clear task structure, workers may advance their career ambitions, an aspect that can cause resentment among peers. Consequently, instances of resentment and demotivation may rise. Therefore, the organization must develop and implement a rotational working model to ensure all employees can serve large customers at different levels of the transaction.
