Overcoming Academic Obstacles
Every student wants to get good grades in school and complete their schooling period with as few obstacles as possible or even none. As good and easy as completing school with few or no hitches sounds, academic obstacles are common occurrences that every student should be ready to deal with (Cavazos & Sparrow, 2016). Some of these challenges may lead to a students’ failure or lagging in school work if not well addressed.
In Janet’s case, she knew when the deadline to submit her essay was and had even created time to do it. She made a draft and thought she saved it, but unfortunately, she did not save it and did not realize until the deadline. Janet panics and gets frustrated because this means that she would not submit the essay on time. However, this does not mean that Janet cannot submit her work or that she has to miss a grade for it. She can try to salvage the situation before it is too late.
First, she has to accept that a mistake had happened, and it needs to be corrected instead of sitting down and feeling sorry and frustrated over the issue. The next step would be to write an email to her lecturer since the deadline is too close or had already passed, telling them that she would be submitting her work later because she had mistakenly lost the document on her computer. She then has to sit down and start over the work and finish it as diligently and as quickly. Since she will not have much time in her hands, she can seek help from writing services after writing to correct grammar errors or any other mistakes the essay would have. After finishing the work, she can submit the work and remember to take full responsibility for the late submission and be ready for any consequence she might face for it. Academic success comes with the need to overcome small and big challenges, and we have to be ready to deal with them.
