Angeline Jolie is an actress and filmmaker who is also well-known for her philanthropic work. Not only has she visited numerous refugee camps and war-torn countries around the world, but she also founded her own non-profit together with Brad Pitt to bring change to the world. Angelina, who was raised in Los Angeles and still resides in the city today. After adopting her eldest son from Cambodia, Angelina started the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation to help improve education and healthcare and end poverty in third world countries.

In 2001, Angeline Jolie was named as the Goodwill Ambassador of UNHCR. In 2008, after visiting Afghanistan, Angelina appealed to nations to help the nation with humanitarian support and reintegrate the returnees. She stated that families returning to Afghanistan and settling at Nangarhar, which is the eastern part of Afghanistan, had shown much resilience and courage. She urged the rest of the world to show support and help these families reintegrate back to society.

In 2007, Angelina and Brad Pitt visited Chad and Sudan. They donated 1 million dollars to the UNHCR and two other non-profit organizations that were helping the people affected the Darfur region crisis in Sudan. She stated that it was hard for her to see families and decent people living under challenging conditions while still hoping for a better tomorrow. Angelina was named a member of the Council of Foreign Relations in 2007. She has since been using her influence to raise humanitarian issues during her numerous meetings with top American politicians.
