Summary
Title: Supporting home hospice family caregivers: Insights from different perspectives.
Purpose: The primary purpose of this research paper was to research the main factors that promote or threaten the provision of hospice health care, which involves the provision of home care for patients who vary sick.
Methodology: there are several methods of research that had to be used to collect data. Data and information is essential in this case because it will be used to inform the findings of the research. Therefore, one of the methods of research that was used in this study is the interviews. The caregivers, nurses, and the leaders were interviewed so that they can provide some of the factors which may prevent the provision of hospice care to the terminally sick patients. The other method that was used to collect data for this research was the focus groups. The individuals were groups so that they could discuss among themselves some of the issues that they encounter and present them to the researcher. The collected was them audiotaped and transcribed.
Sample: It is essential to have a proper sample that will help the researcher to collect the required data. Therefore, the main sample that was selected for this research were the caregivers. Different caregivers can be found within the community. Some of them that were chosen as the sample for this research were the tough leaders, hospice nurses, and the family caregiver.
Results: The results of the study indicated that there was a variation in the priorties of the caregivers. Therefore, the hospice team should be trained and educated more so that they can gain more skills to enable them to be able to support the hospice support team.
Application to practice: Hospice care is important in this case in the sense that it will make nursing professionals have an easy work since most of the terminally ill patients will be taken care of by other caregivers.
