EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate can be termed as a drastic change in the weather pattern of a particular place at a given time; however climate change refers specifically to a rise in global temperature since the beginning of time to the present date. Climate is measured over a long period of time. The current climatic changes are affected largely by drastic human activities like the burning of fossil fuel.
Over the years, climate change has impacted the world in many different way some often the major impacts are global warming, which brings about the greenhouse effect on the earth that leads to a rise of sea levels, drought brings indirect cost on a different section and vice versa, severe weather, increase in a number of animal pests, loss of livestock and low yield, a seasonal outbreak of vector-borne diseases.
Increase in wild fires due to dryness of land hence property damage, loss of soil fertility, flooding destroys homes leading to pollution of streams and rivers which in turn causes declination in fish and loss of some aquatic species. Through these harsh climatic changes better housing facilities against tsunamis and hurricanes have been made, improved public and private health facilities especially for the old age and young ones.
Preserving of ecosystem and water bodies, through technology we are able to prepare for future change in weather changes like tsunamis and for the transport users by weather forecasting , use of public transportation hence saving on fuel, use of renewable energy, prioritizing threat oriented actions by the government, a dressing food security than crop yield, planting of own food garden.
In summary, climate changes has impacted human beings in different ways, more over the impacts have been caused by human activities that has brought about negative results. On the other hand it has greatly impacted positively because of drastic measures put across.
