Difference in Responsibility

A local union representative has quite a number of responsibilities in the process of labor relations. A local union representative must recruit new members in their respective unions and develop strategies for organizing the new workers in the environmental workspace. He has to make sure that he solves the issues and problems that the members encounter. He is supposed to act as an informant and let the new members keep up with the latest technologies and developments coming up. Being the voice of reason when the members have issues is a crucial responsibility. A shop steward has a responsibility to act as a facilitator as well as a mediator. He prepares for the office and acts as a point of contact. He is responsible for handling grievances and be understanding at all times. He often organizes meetings for the local collective bargaining unit. He disseminates policy and helps resolve issues when they arise between the labor team and the management association. He acts as an information provider in informing people when there is something urgent to be told.

An international union representative acts as a negotiator. He has the responsibility of making sure that people are working in good terms and conditions, and in case of time when a problem arises, he can act as a negotiator between the two parties. An international union representative acts as a role model in the labor environment. He is supposed to lead with example and integrity as many of his junior look up to him. He is supposed to establish a positive and serene working environment where the employees feel motivated to work professionally. He has a wide networking within the organization and the more comprehensive union, which makes him delegate and do his duties as per what is expected.
