Diversity in Australia
Thesis statement: Importantly, workplace diversity in Australia describes qualities brought about by employees, and this is due to their background and experiences, which include gender diversity, age, language, ethnicity, cultural background, and religious beliefs.
Topic Sentence 1: Fair representation of people of different genders is regarded as gender diversity, whereby there is an equitable ratio between men and women. Different perspectives are ensured in the workplace, which means that employees portray their different characteristics, skills, and backgrounds (Davis, Frolova & Callahan, 2016).
Topic sentence 2: Australia workplaces can accept all different types of ages within a business environment. The diversity of age improves organizational performance in the workplace. Most of the organizations with a mixed age of workers experience higher productivity.
Topic sentence 3: Varied type of characteristics, which include language family grammar and vocabulary, represent language diversity in workplaces. A good and robust environment evolves from a diverse language, and when a language dies in a workplace, then there is a loss of inherited knowledge (McLeod, 2018). Different cultures are transmitted through languages that reflect the history of people.
Topic sentence 4: Australia has a number of its people that are born oversee and a number of the people with one parent born oversea. People with many races are believed highly recognized in Australia. To manage race diversity in workplaces, there should be respect and avoid jokes concerning one’s race.
Topic sentence 5: Modern workforce consists of people of different genders, ages, ethnicity, religion, and nationalities. Cultural diversity affects a workplace in several ways, either positively or negatively (McLeod, 2018). Some of the negative impacts include the creation of barriers and miscommunication.
Topic sentence 6: There is an essential difference concerning religion and beliefs experienced in different workplaces. One religion is as good and unique as the other. However, researchers suggest that one religion is uniquely valuable (Davis, Frolova & Callahan, 2016).
Conclusion: It is clear that diversity has profound effects in the workplace, and as a workforce continues to grow more diverse at a slow rate, organizations have to embrace diversity.
