Response to Alta Jaspe

Change in every sector is inevitable since every single thing in this world has an end. This often comes as a result of new jobs being introduced and, therefore, replacing the old ones. Such is the change that keeps taking place in the health care system. Healthcare is shifting from not only providing treatment but also giving other services that would improve the health care experience of the individual.

Take, for instance, the case of nurse Thomson, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, who has seen the necessity of safety apart from the standard treatment plans. The action she has taken, monitoring the movement of the patient may not be directed towards treatment. Such an implementation serves to increase the experience of the patient (Raab, 2014). It may improve even their hope and give a healthy future to look forward to.

Response to Anthony Kao

In as much as change is inevitable and very crucial, there are also some of the challenges that come with initiating this change. The amendment introduced in Kao’s hospital served the purpose of bringing the employees together through the cross-departmental benchmarks, on the performance of the eye skin assessment during bedside report. Most of the employees, however, seemed no to appreciate this very initiative.

As Kao puts it, most would complain of how the procedure takes time and therefore eats up the time that could have been used somewhere else. This may be the case, mainly if the employees are used to routine work. They would be reluctant to adopt the new one. Lack of knowledge on the importance of the gadgets may also bring about the resistance (Clark, 2014). It is, therefore, prudent that the implementation of new things should follow a clear description of its purpose.
