What is the implicit personality theory?
This is a theory that explains people’s notion of making assumptions about the correlations in personality traits and individual characteristics. Such assumptions are typically made unconsciously so that one thing is related to another. In most cases, it is formed due to consensuses of generality and seems acceptable by everyone. An example is when people associate warmth with generosity so that people who express warmth are thought to be generous people. This is an assumption and is not based on any objective evidence.
Explain how a person would use this theory to enhance his or her impression management
Impression management is a way in which people influence the perception of other individuals about them, consciously or subconsciously. It is related to the regulation and the control of the information that circulates in social interaction (Cervone, & Pervin, 2015). Therefore, if someone has information on how people perceive particular behavior and what is associated with, they can manipulate the practice to develop traits for their impression management. For example, if an individual wants others to perceive them warmly, they would most likely express kindness. Therefore, they would have manipulated the implicit personality theory concepts to be successful in their impression management.
Find an article or a book on a celebrity, politician, or athlete who used impression management to create a specific image. What role might implicit personality theory have played in regards to how this individual worked to develop or enhance his or her image?
Charlie Sheen is an example of celebrities who use impression management theories to achieve impression management. He posts pictures of himself with several women in social media with him smoking and having put on expensive clothes and seated on expensive cars. His aim is that people may think him to be calm, powerful, self-confident, and vibrant. In this capitalistic world, celebrities associated with a lot of money are known to spend lavishly and have several women. This is where implicit personality theory comes in in that, and people already associate lavish life and many women among celebrities with having a lot of money. Sheen is using impression management because this is not the at all life that he lives at home. He is more weighed down by drugs and gets frequent hospitalization. Therefore, for those who do not know, he well may categorize him among the millionaire celebrities.
What are the implications of impression management or implicit personality theory for social welfare or social change? Support your reasoning with evidence
Impression management and implicit personal assumptions have potential impacts on both social health and social change. People can use these two concepts to improve their social interactions by adopting positive impression management. The reason being that norms and beliefs are not passed down to people, but they slightly mold hat they have heard and seen into themselves (Rosenfeld, Edwards, & Thomas, 2015). When utilized over time, it may become behavior according to behavioral theories of sociology. This aids in promoting behavioral change for a better society. Negative impression management can damage an individual social interaction and, therefore, would have problems. This would make social welfare very difficult because the person will be causing more problems.

There are various places that I have utilized impression management. The most common one is when having a visitor in the house; I always play kind so that they feel free and warm in the house. This influences some aspects of my self-image in that the people would end thinking me a kind and hospitable person, and would love to associate more. They matter to others that I am the right person, simply because of kindness.
