Instructional Design and Development
In the field of instructional design and development, there are sources of job openings that can be used to look for job opportunities. One of the sources that can be used for a job opening is the Training magazine. The training magazine majorly publishes non- peer-reviewed features, which include interviews as well as the profile of the leaders of various industries, original researches, opinions, and the emerging trends in training as well as workforce development. The second source of job opening is the tech trend. The tech trend is a source that publishes articles whose primary focus is the practical application of technology in training as well as education. Moreover, this journal is focused on professionals within education communication as well as the field of technology. Lastly, the Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology is a source that published peer reviews e-journals. The main focus of the articles in these sources is the impact that technology has had on education. Among the six positions that describe the jobs that I am interested in, several skills have been mentioned frequently. Some of these skills include good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, computer literacy, team player, strong time management, and technical skills.
The degree in which I possess these skills is varied in the sense that some are better while some are not. The first skill that I am good at is good communication and strong interpersonal skills because, in my experience, I have learned to interact and communicate with other people effectively. Moreover, I am a team player since I can work well within a team and ensure that the goals and objectives have been met. However, there are some skills that I am not good at concerning these jobs. One of these skills is computer literacy since I have not undertaken to learn on various concepts related to a computer. Therefore, I intended to pursue various computer courses to improve my computer skills and literacy. Also, I plan on improving my technical skills by taking part in various technical activities.
Various requirements are needed for a person to be a volunteer reviewer. According to the response of the editor of Tech Trend, some of the major requirements to work as a volunteer reviewer include good editing skills, proper time management, fluent in both spoken and written English, good knowledge in the subject (Qi et al., 2016). Some of these skills which have been mention are not close to what I have. The skills that I am good at include proper time management and good editing skills, which I learned while writing various essays in the past. However, some of the skills that I not perfect include fluent in spoken and written English. Before I take up the role, I will take a short training to improve my written English so that I can manage to review the articles effectively. The second skill that I am not good at is good knowledge of the subject being published in the journal. Since the main focus on the journal is on technology in education, I will have to carry out more research. This research will help me to be aware of the essential aspects of technology and education. Having these skills will help me to ensure that all the articles published in the journal contain relevant information that will not mislead the audience.
