Crime prevention techniques aim to reduce the risk factors caused by deviant behaviors and criminal activities. State governments have to find alternative methods beyond law enforcement and criminal justice to tackle factors driving crime and respond to them effectively. Creating a national action plan that is adopted and implemented to prevent violence by collaborating with other partners in reducing youth violence through the SAMHSA is most effective. It engages young people at an early age on the effects of deviant and crime, the impacts of drug and substance abuse, and mental health issues affecting many youths. Once they know the side effects of these substances, and the best ways to stop using them, they will be able to avoid crime and deviant norms.
The family-based programs that focus on changing the lives, prevention, and intervention to reduce serious offending. It aims to intervene in child-rearing programs that explore the risks which could lead to delinquency and deviant behaviors. It is essential to focus on early childhood training and parentage because children depend on adults to guide and teach them about morals deviant norms that cause crime. All mentoring programs are conducted by the National Mentoring Resource Center Research Board to examine the extent and impacts of mentoring specific groups in the community. Various reviews are constructed around particular literature to support selective groups of interest and assess mentoring effectiveness.
I believe the strategy is les effective as it deals with specific groups alone, neglecting the others. For instance, youths with disabilities, immigrant youths, colored youths, or white youths, are some of the focus groups, yet the community has a mixture of these groups that require mentorship. It might take a long time in building am implication for practitioners’ program with steps to guide the mentorship programs, delaying the effectiveness, and increasing the deviant norms and crime in the community.
