Changes in Management
The five functions of management include planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. These are affected by various factors every year, which alters their organization. In the next decade, the functions which will mostly be affected significantly is staffing. Staffing involves filling vacancies in the organization with the right labor force to execute duties as per the goals of the company. The world in terms of technology s advancing and literacy levels are going up very fast. The rate of population growth is also very high and therefore means that the labor force would increase by very high percentages. The influence of technology is that machines would replace human capital, which may make staffing very difficult. Human resource managers may also face the problem of choosing sine there will be a large pool of qualified members to choose from, making the task harder than it is.
The function that would be least affected is control because this function entails foreseeing future problems and coming up with solutions as well as putting measures to ensure progress is towards achieving business goals. Therefore, social and political changes may not influence it much as analysis must have considered them before. Controlling is also flexible and can easily be altered to fit the needs of the organization based on the economic environment. The function is basically about emerging issues and how it influences the current work in progress. Its futuristic nature keeps it in a safe position so that changes in the business environment would not adversely alter its functioning. An example is how companies currently asses online marketing and how it can affect the business in the future. This places the company in a better position so that nothing new would surprise its performance and standards in the future.
