How To Write APA Format
Introduction
Writing an APA format is very easy. All you need to know is the basics of APA format. One should start by inserting the running head at the far right of the document’s top corner. Notably, the header should be in upper case letters except for the word running head. Also, click the different first pages in the toolbar provided above the document. The page number should be in the far right while the title should be in the far left. Thereafter, close the header and move on to the next part. The second part involves writing the title of the document, the student’s name, their institution name, and any other details that might be required. The first page is called the cover page and does not include any content from the above-stated details.
Moving on to the second page, start by inserting the title of the document in the upper case. This should repeat itself in all other subsequent pages. Thereafter, start the document with a brief introduction to the topic being discussed. Should the paper require a thesis statement, mention the purpose of writing the paper in one or two sentences at the end of the introductory paragraph.
Another unique aspect of APA format is referencing. The intext citations should mention the author’s name followed by the year of publication—intext citations where one has gotten the information from the source being quoted. Lastly, list all the citations in a different page of the document. The citations should be listed in alphabetical order. Also, they should be in hanging indent.
