Hello class,
I intend to interview a nurse who is part of the team, taking care, and interacting with corona virus-positive patients. I chose the nurse because she interacts daily with COVID-19 patients and uses PPE while working. I need to get more information about my topic, which is on the necessary PPE for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is an expert and well suited to get the information. I have already secured a 30 minutes interview with my interviewee. The only challenge I have is determining the method to use in conducting the interview.
Interview questions
What is it like taking care of the COVID-19 patients in their isolated wards?
It is challenging working in a new context; this new disease was not there before, and therefore learning is ongoing. Nurses are battling exhaustion because of the increased workload and long working hours. We are also fighting the fear of getting infected and the fear of affecting our loved ones. We are continually feeling powerless because of the many patients we have to handle and other succumbing.
How many PPE do you use in a day?
As an ICU nurse, I require a minimum of 4 PPEs for a 12-hour shift. It depends on the number of physicians who will see the patient and the necessary vfor the patient.
Do you get enough supply of all the necessary PPE to use while working?
There are times when there are shortages, but they have not been frequent.
Do you reuse your PPE during your working time?

Enhance your protection while taking care of COVID-19 patients?
The eye and face protection are as equally important as head protection. We would urge the government to ensure a constant and adequate supply of the full PPEs gear.
