Reflection:
Utilization of concept maps is critical because they provide a visual overview of ideas and their relationships. The maps help the students establish meaningful connections, allowing a better understanding of words and phrases. Turning texts on time allows students to know where they need to improve and what needs to be corrected. It also allows educators to connect with students by giving them positive feedback. Positive feedback helps students in improving their academic performances. Mid-term exams are useful for ascertaining the level of competency and proficiency.
Asking students to submit main themes in a passage will determine whether students know how to analyze a story. Asking students to respond to their peers’ work allows them to learn from each other, exchange ideas, and highlight areas where improvement is necessary. Online feedbacks also allow students to use technology. Writing final exams will determine whether all concepts learned in class have been understood and whether the instructor has succeeded in conveying the information to the students.
Using the one-minute test papers in class is an excellent approach to evaluate the level of understanding. Students obtain these tests in class after a lesson to know if they were attentive and understood the learning material. Creative extension projects can help determine whether students have successfully understood the concepts learned or not. Students take a test within the guidelines of the entire course project. Then specialists use a final project to determine whether students learned the creative extension projects effectively.
