disbandment of Cambridge Analytica.
Just recently the world witnessed the disbandment of Cambridge Analytica. The company used social platforms to influence citizens from various countries. The mind of a human being executes judgment as per the five senses; smell, touch, hear, feel, and see. Attitude refers to the way a person thinks or feels about an opinion, idea, person or an organization. The connection of judgment and attitude is that the attitude of a person determines how the judgment will occur. On the other hand, biases are causes to feel against something or someone. The political realm uses such emotions to influence the citizens into voting. The following is a brief description of how the influence is caused and also how it translates to decision making.
The branch of biology that deals with the study of neurons describe an aspect of the brain referred to as neuroplasticity. Such a phenomenon occurs in the same way as to how the artificial intelligence system works. Neuroplasticity suggests that when an impulse is subjected to repeated action, the mind tends to find it is a normal action to execute. At time progresses, the neural pathway develops stronger, and thus it becomes a standard pathway. This explains how a person also learns new things — the moment one feeds on information about another person that is when training of the mind starts. The process of training a model in the technology realm corresponds to how political parties and individuals carry out their activities; to tune the mind of the citizens to flow at the same frequency as theirs. The politicians ensure that they appear on all aspects of social platforms so that the citizens might see them occasionally and thus t=get used to them. Also, the information aired by the media is essential in developing followers. A person might get a good or bad reputation depending upon how the media portrays them. A more significant percentage of the citizens are reliant on the information posted by the press; not minding the credibility of the data. Such citizens end up believing the story without researching deeper. The result is that the attitude and bias of the citizen will get influenced by politicians.
After influence is achieved, the next step is how the same individual will make the decision. The decision is dependent on the ability of a person to judge what is right and wrong. Also on which step the individual wants to take. That brings the aspect of preference. Just like a training model, the mind executes what it is fed. The decision will be made based on the type of information in mind. The political process makes the citizen have the information that will cause the downfall of the competitors. With this in mind, it is possible to have a deduction that the resultant decision is a product of the attitude and bias imposed by the information projected into the mind of the citizen.
In conclusion, political influence has developed into a game of divide and conquers. The information fed into the mid brings the development of bias and attitude. The direct proportionality between attitude and judgment connects with the decision a citizen makes. Thus political science is a major field that needs the citizens to know how it works and have a stable stand so that they can resist being influenced. Also, citizens should research more on their choices and also have credible evidence to support their election since propaganda has taken over politics.
