Podcast – Washington Post
The article tells of the influence of support from professors to students has on their esteem and academic excellence. It also tries to outdo the stereotype that is placed on African American men of not being good fathers. The article features an event where a father comes to class with his infant daughter since he missed a baby sitter in the House. Wayne Hayer brings her daughter to level, because the wife could not, owing to that the work she had would inconvenience the child and would be hectic for her. This article concentrates more on child care proposes that parents should work in conjunction with teachers to ensure the wellbeing of children.
Wayne would not miss class because they had a continuous assessment test, and the lesson with Professor Alexander was critical. Being in a dilemma between his education and assisting his wife with the baby, he decides to bring the baby to class and explains the situation to professor Alexander. The professor, so shockingly, holds the baby for his as he does his studies. The classmates are mesmerized and send this event to social media, which is met with a lot of positive responses from people. From my standpoint, it was the right for the professor to take hold of the situation and offer to babysit Wayne’s child since it is not only humane but also depicts responsibility.
The scenario is captivating and motivating. The sense of support that the gentlemen had on each other is admirable and ought to be emulated. The professor’s move was very prudent since it just proves how every gender can do anything, and there is no such thing as this is the male or female staff. The professor also did excellently is supporting Hayer, showing an example of ethical and responsible leadership. It is just a portrayal of doing what is preached such that Alexander is not only teaching the students to be good leaders but also acting as an example to them.
