Eternity with Eterneva.
Dealing with the loss of a loved one is the hardest thing people go through. How would you feel if someone told you that you could have your loved one for eternity? Eterneva is a startup company in Austin that will help you get something precious from your loved one’s ashes. They cremate your friends, relatives, and even pets’ bodies and turn the ashes into a diamond. Eterneva was started after Archer lost her friend. The idea came up as she was grieving and looking for a proper way to honor their friendship.
The company is owned by partners Adelle Archer and Garret Ozar. They extract carbon found in the ashes and put it under extreme heat and pressure to produce a diamond. All this starts with willing families sending the ashes of their loved ones to the company. The process takes roughly 7-10 months. It begins with the company sending a welcome kit to the clients. The welcome kits contain instructions and requirements necessary for the operation. Inside the kit is a list of things they need to avail to the company and the steps the clients must follow while sending in the ashes.
After they receive the ashes, the extraction and the crystallization of the carbon process begins. Later, the final touches, which are colorization, grading, engraving, and setting the diamond, are done. The company ensures they send pictures and video updates each month until the diamond is fully processed and delivered to the families. The price of the diamonds ranges between $2,900 and $50,000.
Eterneva is steadily showing growth, and it now has 17 employees. The company recently moved to South Austin in an in-house diamond lab measuring 4,000 square feet. After acquiring the new bigger facility, the company is looking to allow families to participate more during the process. It is now offering digital dedication pages to honor the departed. Eterneva has brought a whole new experience around grief wellness, and they are doing it through technology.
