Letter to My Future Self
Dear Me,
I hope that you are doing fine as you struggle to achieve your dreams. This semester has been quite interesting to me, but not without challenges. I have made many new friends; I hope to keep the friendship throughout my lifetime. What has changed me this semester is the warmness of fellow students. It seems everyone picked up the warmness when they first stepped on the campus. Everyone here, no matter where they come from, speaks to you as though they know too well. I have decided not to move back home, but stay solo in the United States as I look for a job and advance my career.
I did not expect the professors to be courteous to students. In typical circumstances, one would expect the professor to put on an executive demeanor. It came across as surprising to me that professors in this institution try as much as they can to maintain an approachable attitude. I have seen the best case of some joining our group discussions to help us out with challenging classwork. Despite all the great experiences, there were still some challenges. It has proved quite a task to balance learning and social life. At some point, I regrettably chose to go partying during class hours. Thankfully, I changed my habit and planned my time well.
Despite the seriousness that comes with studying in a highly competitive environment, I found some fun things to do too. I enjoyed the weekend summer concerts organized by the student leadership, not to forget the dance nights and rock performances. Recently, I could not believe that I stayed awake for more than 48 hours just eating popcorns and dancing live music from a famous rock band. From our media 10 class, I found the idea of multiculturalism the point the way to understand the world. That is where all of us can derive emotional intelligence- a quality that is increasingly desirable in our time.
I look forward to a great future full of fulfilled dreams.
Yours Sincerely
