M-1- TD1-Big Five Personality Factors and Leadership

Personality is a broad concept that related to what a person is. The term personality refers to what makes a person and encompasses the traits, quirks, and characteristics that differentiate everybody. Every great leader appreciates the fact that they can never change the underlying culture using trendy initiatives or gimmicks. Thus they focus on the development of their culture bit by bit. Thus the foundation of leadership development is in helping the people without changing their culture. An example of this leader is Bill Gates, who is a co-founder of Microsoft, which is the world’s largest personal computer software company. Moreover, he has a role in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which was established in 2000. The paper below is an analysis of Gates’ personality in reference to the big five personality traits.

Gate’s personality is influenced by Agreeableness (Ackerman, 2017). One can assert that Bill Gates has a tendency to be accepting and nurturing new talent in the field. Any new invention and innovation are welcomed in Bill and Melinda Gates’ foundation. Moreover, his stewardship at Microsoft has seen the acceptance of any deal that brings good to the entire organization.

Moreover, consciousness is a factor that also is seen in Gate’s endeavors. An idea is tackled with all the consciousness (McCredie, 2018). Assertively, there is an analysis point at Gate as someone who wants to control any situation. To achieve this, every situation has to be tackled with a conscious mind. Moreover, his consciousness is seen in his organization and decisions. Thus, his leadership is guided by consciousness.

Besides, in terms of openness, Gates has been creative, curious, and insightful and informed at the same time (Logan, King, & Fischer-Wright, 2008). These traits have helped him tackle and situation be it in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation or the society. Assertively, it is the creative ideas that have led him to discover business ideas and made him one of the superstar CEOs in the world. Thus, aspects of Neuroticism are not seen in the leadership styles of Bill Gates.

In conclusion, the major Stuck up in Gate’s leadership is seen in his extroversion personality trait. During his young age, he would spend days reading thinking and pondering in his bedroom. Considerably, in his weeklong “think weeks,” Gates spends time in an isolated cabin reading, synthesizing, and organizing relevant information. However, some may argue that he is extroverted because of his control of a Fortune 500 company. It should be noted that Mary Gates, Bill Gates’ mother was strongly Extrovert, and maybe Bill gates learned some social skills form her, which he uses, but he has an introverted personality.
