Technology and Psychology Profession
There are many issues that psychologists are dealing with currently, which include abortion, addiction, money, parenting, post-traumatic stress disorder, marriage and divorce. There are numerous trends in psychology, including climatic changes that have been impacted by the current global warming, where people where psychology is trying to find the way it can help people adapt to the changes that have arisen (Ellis, 2015). Another aspect is the rising demand for more psychologists related to sports because many of the misunderstandings in the society that has been a challenge in enabling athletes to seek psychological assistance. The profession faces several challenges that range from finances, whereby many of the people cannot afford mental health treatments; therefore, many of them do not seek the necessary assistance. If, for instance, an individual cannot afford treatment for minor illnesses, they tend to diverge to the therapy sessions. That makes the psychologists face the impacts of an inconstant healthcare system. There is also a problem of retaining workers where healthcare and businesses pay well compared to those working as psychologists (American Psychological Association. 2010).
Technology is on the rise, and it was continuously improving the delivery of services by those who are undertaking the duties in the mental healthcare system. Those who will need the mental health care services will not need to move from one place to another but use the online technology available to explore the outside world. Students also will be able to access learning through the use of online platforms. These will make them be able to serve those with mental health challenges. The principles have been useful in the investigation of the psychologist’s needs that they have the responsibility of respecting the rights of those they are serving and the research participants’ dignity. It also enables the researcher to justify id the matter was justified, or it was not. The evidence-based practices will make the new technology make the three major components easy to achieve (Clinton, Silverman, & Brendel, 2010) since significantly of the psychologists will be able to gain a lot of skills. There will be an increase in the patients’ values that WILL being served AND will be able to meet the choice and preference for the patients. That will be assisted by the psychology profession’s work settings where psychology will use technology. It will promote convenience, especially in the field of clinical psychology. IT WILL enhance comprehensive treatment plans and enhance client services’ reason being the availability of specialized experts through telepsychiatry.
