Ghost of Rwanda Review

The film depicts the feeling of anger, embarrassment, and disgust toward the international organizations and the united states. The united states and the united union failed to intervene during the Rwandan crisis (Banks et al., 2017). The united nation claimed not to have the necessary capacity to tackle the situation. The United States helped its citizens out of Rwanda, leaving thousands of Tutsis, under the brutal Hutus. This describes a lack of humanity in poor African nations.

Pictures in a film may affect the viewers’ viewpoint of some life situations. The images of the dead bodies scattered all over Rwanda streets and killing innocent people with machete impose fear. This indicated the brutality of the Hutus toward the innocent Tutsis. Additionally, the image of the US government taking her citizens to their embassy in Rwanda, leaving the Rwandans suffering the hostility of fighters, affects individual viewpoint toward races (Gustafsson, 2017). This represents the discrimination the united states and western nations have toward the Africans. In both images, they depict racial discrimination.

From the film, it is evident that the international organization and the developed nations intervene in a crisis that affects their economic and political interests. The USA failed to intervene in the Rwandan situation because Rwanda’s economy did not impact much on the international sector (Gustafsson, 2017). As pointed out by George moose, this is evident as he questioned who was responsible for compensating the troops if an intervention was conducted.

The interview of a schoolgirl and the Jean Kambanda may impact a difference to audiences in their society peace point of view. These interviews reveal the effect of false propaganda to individuals in society. The Hutus killed Tutsis, with no reason claiming to have intruded by Satan.
