Over the years, women have been facing several challenges at the workplace, including discrimination, but in recent years things have changed for the best. Liv Garfield
Liv Garfield was born on 10th September 1975 in Yorkshire. She is a businesswoman and the CEO of Severn Trent, a company committed to providing clean water to billions of people in the UK. She got appointed to the Chief Executive Position in 2014. Before she joined Severn Trent, she worked at British Telecom for 12 years, where she was the chief executive of Openreach. She is a natural leader who ignores her publicity. Liv’s primary focus is providing the best services to her clients, investors, and the community at large and giving support to the young generation.
According to Liv, a company with long-term goals works towards achieving them, and Severn Trent is the perfect example. Customers come first for Liv, which is why she has come up with a community. A small percentage of profit will go towards developing community projects. Liv is interested in protecting the environment while at the same, helping the community around her. Because of her positive leadership skills, Severn Trent was among the 50 best companies one can work forin the UK.
Lynsi Synder
Lynsi Synder was born on 5th May 1982, in California. Since Synder is the only grandchild of In-N-Out founders, she became its president when she was 28. Lynsi became the sole owner of In-N-Out Burger Company in 2010 since she took control of all shares on her 35th birthday. In 2012 she was named the youngest female billionaire. Since she took over the company’s leadership, Lynsi has invested most of her time on employees by making the working environment comfortable. She is a born-again believer who acknowledges the role her faith has played in her life.
Cathy Engelbert
Cathy Engelbert is the CEO of Deloitte. She was born in 1964 in Circa, but she grew up in New Jersey. Cathy pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting at Lehigh University. She began her career at the company when she was 17. She was appointed for the CEO position in 2015, 30 years since she joined. The appointment made her the first female CEO in the US to hold such a job in a Big Four firm. According to Cathy, Deloitte played a massive role in shaping her career since it supports women in the workplace.
During her term, the company recorded an increase in revenue. However, she stepped down from the position and became the first commissioner of the Women’s National Basketball Association. Her passion for basketball began during her school years. She was a basketball player, after which she became the captain. The two roles act as inspiration for women to work hard and build their careers.
Isabelle Kocher
Isabelle Kocher is the CEO of Engie, and she got appointed to the position in 2016. She was born on 9th December 1966. During her term, she helped in the company’s growth by forming new strategies, making Engie a significant player in the energy industry for the coming years. Due to climate change, Engie had to use it to their advantage for their growth. For there to be a renovation in the energy industry, Kocher believes the industry has to change its strategies. She invested a lot of money and time in employee training. Isabelle sold a percentage of the assets and reinvested them in renewable energy. She empowers women at Engie by dedicating 35% of employees to be women.
