Pending Questions on Christian Worldviews
The concept of worldview encompasses various ideologies. The variety of ideologies occurs due to different perspectives from numerous individuals who live in the world. Similarly, understanding the concept of worldviews occurs at a personal level. The Christian religion has assisted Christians to understand several theories of the Christian worldview. Besides, Christianity has helped in understanding other types of worldviews through the study of the Christian worldview and different views. Understanding the various concepts of worldviews and especially the Christian worldview requires the application of critical thinking. Yet, the use of critical thinking may fail to give a full understanding of various questions of Christian worldviews. As a result, some problems such as the ability to realize right, wrong, and to know anything at all, and the history of humanity remain unanswered. As a Christian, I strive to get a better understanding of these unanswered questions through research. Engagement and interaction with other people in society make it difficult to comprehend every concept of worldviews.
Where do human beings get the ability to know things at all? Besides, when they know something, how do they get to realize the difference between right or wrong? The two questions on realization remain ambiguous to me. Nature could influence human beings to understand things around them, yet the Christian teaching tells us that God gave human beings authority over nature. Human beings also possess the ability to realize between right or wrong. For example, every human being understands the ideology of ethics, which humanity progressively applies in everyday life situations. Humanity also knows that the life of human beings remains essential and that everyone should respect it. Human beings also comprehend the importance and existence of their rights and the need to uphold others’ rights. We also know the value of looking after our families and the obligation everyone fulfills for the smooth running of various activities we engage in. All this information seems easy to comprehend but very important. However, the main question remains what kind of knowledge this is.
The history of human beings remains a difficult concept to understand. The idea of human history exists as a form of chaos. Every attempt to interpret it remains an illusion. According to Tison, Charles A. Beard described history as an element that moves around in circles. History may move in line, straight, or spiral and a particular direction but always goes back to the same starting point. History repeats itself! In the world, and particularly for Christians, the account has purpose and meaning. However, the concept of Christian worldviews presents a challenge in understanding its occurrence. Through the application of academic knowledge, Christian scholars make it challenging to comprehend the history of humanity. The two fields, Christianity and academics, collide each time scholars from the two areas set out to seek the truth or understanding of the history of humanity. Primarily, the rules set in academics make these attempts difficult to bear results. As a result, the history of humankind remains ambiguous, not only to me but also to the whole world. Any efforts to make an extra attempt to understand the truth about humanity concerning knowledge of God faces hard to solve challenges. It remains difficult for any Christian without academic knowledge to study the history of humanity and possibly give a comprehensive and valid answer.
