Courtyard Marriott
During this challenging time of COVID- 19, Marriott International is committed to ensuring its customers experience flexibility in response to our communities’ health and safety. The reservation policies have been extended and do not apply to the travel associated group bookings. For the guests with the group reservations, for instance, meetings and conferences, the booking rate rules should be reviewed. Recently, Marriott announced the creation of its Global Cleanliness Council that consists of experts in inhouse and outside in water and food safety, hygiene, and the prevention of infection in the hotel operations. (Dave,2020) The company has already initiated plans to roll out the technologies in its properties, such as the electrostatic sprayers that enhances touches disinfection of capabilities. The electrostatic sprayers reach and coat the surfaces and areas standard cleaning misses
due to the magnetically charged droplets.
Marriot uses signage in its lobbies to alleviate the risk of transmitting COVID-19 through person to person contact hence reminding the guests to maintain the social distancing protocols through removed or rearranged furniture. The company is also working on making gloves and masks to the available associates through their continued work with the supply chain partners. There is appropriate training to food handlers and the supervisors on the safe preparation and the service practices using the food safety standards and enhanced sanitation guidelines. Since Marriott is a large company, diverse teams of highly educated specialists are employed. The groups meet and work together at times, virtually through the online collaboration for safety measures. (Garber, 2020) Moreover, the company executives have significantly invested in building and maintaining social relationships in the organization. In summary, there is a need to help the healthcare workers and the community caregivers who are always on the front line working on the pandemic by offering help and bolstering.
