My relationship with Jesus Christ
I knew that God exists at a very young age. I was brought up in a Christianity background and grew up acquiring knowledge from my pastor, parents and my church family. My relationship with Jesus Christ began at the age of 12 years. At this age, I started to suffer from a schizophrenic disease which made me live an unhappy life. My pastor preached and talked to me, and this session impacted my life. Indeed I realised that Jesus Christ is the saviour, and I started my journey to know Him better. This paper seeks to describe my relationship with Jesus Christ and how he has impacted my life and my walk with Him.
The most fundamental principle in my life was to live a life based on the desires and plans of the Lord. Affirmatively, I found all my guides on my strong faith in Jesus Christ. He accepted crucification and all harassment for the sake of forgiveness of my sins and my salvation. I have decided to serve the Lord in different ways and maintain my faith genuine every day. In my church, I participate in the youth choir, Sunday school teacher, church
instrumentalist and also maintaining hygiene in the church by sweeping and dusting seats. I also volunteer at Christian camps to get more knowledge about the living God.
I read the Bible daily to know the person whom God wants me to be. I learn that God wants me to be a person of honesty, optimistic and integrity. Indeed, these are the core principles I try to detect in my life. The Bible says that God is at work in everyone’s life. So we should seek the Lord in the hope that we may grope for Him and find Him, though He is not much far from each one of us (Acts 17:27). As a result, He answers my prayers immediately when I seek Him to help me when I am in challenges.
Jesus Christ is a friend that helps me to become better. The book of Hebrews 4:15 says that Satan tempted Jesus Christ as we are, but He never committed any sin. I have decided to live a holy life free from sins by following what the scriptures teach me. Since Jesus Christ lived an overcoming life, all sin came underneath His feet’s. Jesus has strengthened my faith which helps me to cope with challenges and temptations from Satan. I have left the desires and freedoms of this world and decided to become a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. I believe that the far I have reached with my life is due to a good relationship I have induced with Jesus Christ. Jesus wants me to see eternal life and enter the kingdom of God because He keeps on encouraging me to worship Him in truth and faith. Also, He chastened me to continue spreading the gospel to many people (1 Corinthians 11:31).
My relationship with Jesus Christ has taught me how to be obedient. I keep the Sabbath day holy by attending Sunday fellowships to praise and worship God as He denoted in the 5th commandment that He gave to Moses at Mount Sinai (Exodus 34:28). In the church, I pray for repentance of my sins so that I can connect to God following the examples given in the Bible of King Ahab and Jonah. Indeed, I fast for many consecutive days praying for forgiveness of my sins as exampled by Jonah in Nineveh (Jonah 3:5)
The Bible says God loved us even when we didn’t love Him (John 4:10). I love my enemies and neighbours as I love myself. Indeed, I practice the principle of helping the needy in society every day. In my community, I have participated in raising school fees for the underprivileged children’s, providing basic needs to low-income families such as food, shelter and clothing. Also, I take part in motivating people to accept God’s message and know that Jesus Christ is the saviour.
In conclusion/ In a nutshell/conclusively, my relationship with Jesus Christ has drastically changed my life. It has impacted my life in various ways such as teaching me how to be faithful, helpful, loving and caring. Ultimately, I have learned how to be repentance and obedience.
