I am submitting this application for the Medical Laboratory Science Program Scholarship to further my education in medical laboratory science and research studies. I believe I possess the necessary skills that when sharpened, could be of importance in the global medical sector. I studied a medical laboratory in 2018 and exhibited excellence in my academic results, with 91% of the total marks. I have worked part-time as a medical laboratory assistant and technician while at school, and I wish to work more in the medical field. However, I need to advance my knowledge in this field.
I spent time working in life labs as a technician, a job that required leadership skills and a lot of initiatives. I have been able to express leadership abilities by solving issues and creation of implementable proposals. I have an excellent interpersonal relationship with others and always offer a supportive hand to colleagues.
The medical field is one that requires community involvement. Over this period of COVID-19 pandemic, I have been involved in various community activities such as the supply of groceries and medications to senior citizens. I also work part-time as a cashier at a pharmacy. These ways have enabled me to participate in flattening the curve in any small way possible.
If I am fortunate enough to receive this scholarship as I believe, I will put in all my efforts to excel and qualify for ethical medical practice and activities.
