AFTERMATH OF TERROR ATTACKS OF 11-SEPTEMBER-2001 IN US A ON MUSLIMS
Terrorism is the act by sub-national groups or clandestine agents to cause violence for political advantage intentionally. The perpetrators of this attack were highly labelled as the Muslims since the agent responsible for the attack was Al-Qaeda under the leadership of Osama Bin Laden, which poses Islamic faith. The consequences of the terrorist attack on Muslims living in the US A are discussed below;
DISCRIMINATION
The Muslims living in the United States are segregated on the basis of their religion which is associated as a cover-up of the terrorist who claims to fight a Holy war as a revenge of the United government intrusion to their Arabs countries. Whenever a Muslim is spotted on American soil, he/she is seen as an objected to fulfil the mission of the Holy War.
SUBJECT TO STRICT SECURITY CHECK AND POLICE SURVEILLANCE
After the creation of Department of Homeland Security, Muslims who wish to work, visit, or stay in the USA, before they can acquire a visa they are subjected to lengthy procedures which require a lot of certification to be allowed to enter into USA, these acts as a barrier to them.
PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE
Majority of the Muslims in USA are facing a state of depression, stress, anxiety &fear due to prolong discriminatory acts. This ranges from are of residence, work, recreational facilities and even transport sector since no one wants to be associated with them. This has negatively affected their health.
LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND DECLINE IN REAL EARNING
After the attack, the first and second-generation Arab men were adversely affected. Majority of Muslim lost jobs, their e earnings reduced, and their mobility was restricted.
In conclusion, if this rivalry is not checked the likelihood of an inter-religion conflict between Islamic & Christianity is inevitable.
