Comparing corona and influenza target audience
The audience I would target in this project would be the journalist, health professional, and the general community. Most forms of journalism involve meeting people in person and seeing things with their own eyes as media professionals worldwide are struggling with the impact of the crisis and developing responses that others can learn from. This could be more difficult due to the widespread lockdown imposed as part of the virus’s measures (www.dw.com, 2020). For health professionals, they would understand the facts about the two pandemics to fight the rumours and misinformation related to them. These rumors and misinformation can be deadly in an epidemic. The general community would understand some of the measures they should consider to undertake to reduce the spread of pandemics and how they can avoid being infected. Engaging these audiences will be done using text messages, questionnaires, and media to get to understand what they know about the virus through their response and educate them more about the virus through the same platforms.
People visiting the museum would get the questionaries with an open-ended question that they will be required to respond based on what they understand about the two pandemics. Short interviews will also be conducted where visitors will be asked questions based on what they know about the corona and influenzas. A survey will be conducted for a virtual audience using google forms with the question that they will be required to respond (“4 ways publishers are engaging audiences during COVID-19 | What’s New in Publishing | Digital Publishing News“, 2020). These questions will be structured n a way that will guide the audience on how to answer them. Text messages will send to the targeted audience, where they will be required to reply to the text to provide the information requested. All the information gathered will be used during the research, and the data provided will only be used in this particular research.
