Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?
Evidence-based practice is an approach in solving a problem in health by integrating selected and better evidence researched by clinicians about patients care (Malloch & Porter, 2010). Some of the needs that the patients present to medics’ experience include: their concerns and expectations. It’s clear that the healthcare personnel aim at providing care that positively impact those that they serve. Evidence-based practiced plays great role in ensuring that the nurses provide better healthcare and improving the outcomes for clients (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2011). Healthcare organizations have embraced the evidence-based practice and one such organization is Mayo Clinic. The Clinic offers quality care for their patients’ needs, and their website is well designed, thus makes it easy for other patients to obtain relevant information at a glance.
Mayo Clinic has been doing better to ensure that adequate information is on the website for any visitor. Diseases and Conditions are clearly displayed on the homepage. Furthermore, any health issues can be researched by Mayo’s symptom checker. In the web, information based on evidence-based practice such as mission and vision is also displayed. Its mission is inspiring hope and contributing to health and well-being through the provision of healthcare to the patients (Mayo clinic, 2020). Mayo’s healthcare is grounded in evidence-based practice in the delivery of its services to the patients.
The information on Mayo’s website had got a positive impact on my perception of healthcare information. One way through which the website changed my perception was on how one can get better and more detailed information at a glance, such as different Diseases and the conditions. The website design is simple to comprehend with enough information.
