Breaking laws or evading regulations
Many decisions made by strategic leaders benefit some people at the expense of others, thus raising ethical issues. Give examples for each of the following categories of ethical issues.
Unethical behavior is known to be actions that do not fit in any corporate operations’ acceptable standards. Individuals behave unethically if what they do go astray from what is expected to be morally right for an individual in every circumstance. This occurs in the case of an individual or that of the business culture. There are various categories of unethical behavior. They include:
Breaking laws or evading regulations
An example of such type of unethical behavior is the misuse of investors’ funds. In such a case, a corporate person acts as a fiduciary. Often few people intended to behave this way, and at times you may find that those who commit it may not be aware of what they are doing. It mostly occurs as a result of mental stimulus.
Legal or unethical behavior
An example of this unethical issue is paying workers minimum salary without considering the over-time they have worked for. In most organizations, it is legal for employees to work beyond normal hours, and if they are not paid for the extra time, it is termed as unethical behavior. This causes a lot of stress to the employees as they cannot balance their work-life and, at times, possess high risks to their health, thus lowering their work performance.
Acts of omission rather than commission
Most individuals fail to perform duties assigned to them at the workplace or rather carry out their responsibilities. The acts that are not done yet they are to be accomplished are known as acts of omission. For example, if a worker fails to make sensible adjustments within the appropriate time and manner.
