Managing the Information System
Project management software is critical in helping project managers and teams manage time, budget, identify scope constraints, and complete all project requirements. However, there is numerous project management software, and selecting the right software can be challenging. The leading project management software includes Jira. The tool is mainly used by software development teams to plan, track, and release software. The software’s key strengths include the ability to generate reports, workflows, track issues, planning sprints, and create stories. The software’s weaknesses include complex integration and migration to other project management tools, limited file upload size, and confusing user interface. AceProject is a web-based software that can be used by individuals, teams, or businesses in the end to end management of projects. The software’s strengths include affordability, allow the user to add a lot of details on tasks, offer grant charts, time tracking features, reporting tools, and a broad range of mobile applications. Weaknesses include no team discussion feature, pages load slowly, and does not have a calendar.
Procore is another widely used project management software. Strengths for software include ease of use, creating a workflow, tracking communication, and offering customers support. The weaknesses have a complicated billing process, challenges in integrating the software with other applications, and difficulties in quality control. Lastly, WorkflowMax is also commonly used in project management. The software is cloud-based and offers end to end project management solutions. The strengths of the software include providing reporting, invoicing, customization, and customer management tools. The software also allows users to track multiple projects for different clients and provides a regular and real-time update. The weaknesses include challenges in document mapping and tracking resources. For someone looking for project management software, I would encourage them to look for software that fits their needs. Different software offers various tools. It is important to choose software that provides the specific features that you need or can be easily customized to fit your needs, such as Jira software.
Question Two
A
B
The earliest expected completion time will follow the critical path= 2 (activity 1) +3 (activity 2) +7 (activity 4) + 5(activity 7) + 8 (activity 9) +2(activity 10) = 27 weeks
C
Changing Activity six from 1 week to 6 weeks does not have much impact on the project. Activity six is off the critical path, as well as its successor Activity eight. There is enough slack time for both Activities, and thus this change does not impact the project’s completion time.
