The first reason why positive psychology is important in education is that it covers the gap between what schools teach and what people want for their children. Most parents want happiness, confidence and a healthy lifestyle for their children. However, the schools want children to have great academic skills, be disciplined and achieve in life. Both, what the school gives and what the parents want is important and therefore, positive psychology gives both to children.

Secondly, positive psychology should be implemented in education as it improves mental health skills in students. In other words, positive psychology brings positive education goals into the education system. It tries to support the mental health of students when they are studying. Despite the school setting, positive psychology ensures that all students are happy and have good mental health. Teachers themselves embrace positivity as they believe that the emotional well-being of students is essential, especially when they are being taught.

Thirdly, positive psychology should be applied in education as it will ensure that existing interventions are being applied instead of embracing new approaches in education.
