Funding
For decades now, American administrations have experienced an increasing number of unrecorded or undocumented persons entering the US. It is evident that the border distance between America and its bordering countries is large and therefore leading to uncontrolled border documentations. The primary threat that the undocumented persons pose to the United States includes terrorism, movements of drugs into and out of the US, enhance human trafficking, among others. It is, therefore, essential for the US government to strategically reduce the number of undocumented persons who find their way to the country.
The government has tried to come up with measures to reduce illegal border entries. Some of the strategies employed include federal funding, especially for the countries with the largest and highly at risk of border movement. One of the outstanding problems that the government of the Us is facing in regards to fighting illegal movement is the lack of nationwide and standardized programs that help counties share information and intelligence among the security partners.
Ways to reduce undocumented persons in the United States
Fighting the illegal movement of aliens in America does not have one straightforward solution. The administrations should, therefore, develop strategies and comprehensive measures that can help fight illegal immigration to the country. Among others, the US administration should develop and implement an integrated program that incorporates states, local, and the federal government. The integrated program would incorporate documentation of persons across America in one platform. For example, a registrar in the state of Vermont would register an individual, and the same information is reflected at Michigan State. As much as erecting borders between American and its bordering countries such as Canadian and Mexico has helped reduce the illegal movement of people, it is not enough to control these movements. An integrated and well-comprehensible program is essentially critical.
According to scholars who have spent time studying the problems relating to illegal migration argue that the best way to reduce the problems relating to illegal migration is providing enough funds to the agencies responsible for fighting the illegal documentation. A fast process of determining the illegality in the migrations and making a decision on whether to prosecute or deport is paramount.
