A Memorable Adventure.
It was one gloomy Sunday afternoon, my brother and I were alone in the house since my parents had traveled for a business trip. Having watched movies the whole day, boredom had caught up with us. This seemed like the best time to explore the surroundings since we recently moved to a new neighborhood.
“I am bored, can we go for a walk,” Mark says, coming towards me.
“Not today. Can we do it tomorrow?”
“No please. Mum and dad will be back tomorrow morning and you know how hard it is asking permission from them.” Mark says angrily.
“It’s ok small bro.” taking a jacket.
We passed several houses, and the farther we went, the darker it became. Suddenly we saw an old gate that was wide open. Filled with curiosity, we proceeded towards what seemed like an abandoned house.
“This place looks scary. Can we go back home please,” Mark says.
“I thought we were exploring the neighborhood. Are you sure? Do not be afraid I got you.” I assured him.
My hands trembled as we approached the open gate. From afar, we could see a house that looked abandoned and lifeless. As we drew closer, everything surrounding us became soundless. The birds could not be heard anymore. When we reached the house, the windows began rattling vigorously from a howling wind, as if they were about to detach out of their frames. We approached the house hallway, and all that could be smelt was dust. I looked at my brother, and I could see sweat all over his tiny face.
“Please let us go back,” he shouted angrily.
“Yeah I think we should. This place looks scary.” I said.
All of a sudden, the door behind us slammed.
