A reality television show is a type of television programming with the main aim of showing how ordinary people act in their normal life or situations. Reality television shows are created to represent our everyday life. Culture is the ideas, duties, and social behaviors of a specific group of people (Jahoda, 2012). Culture best describes a particular group of people in their lifestyle. Society is referred to as the group of individuals that shares the same social territory and has a dominant cultural expectation. Today’s world, reality television shows have gained popularity through how they present various cultures. This document will discuss how popular television shows have expressed our cultures and society.
The rising in popularity of reality television shows varies on how well they express the changes in our cultural practices. Most of the reality television shows have scripts written from our everyday cultural practices of a society (Ho, 2020). These shows have stated that parenting roles are becoming less gender-bound in contemporary in our societies. Several contexts of these shows have stated that fathers are becoming more engaged in their children’s lives compared to the previous decade where mothers were more engaged in their children’s lives. This has shown how our social-cultural practices are changing through awareness.
The rising popularity of reality television shows the flexibility of these television programs to accommodate the viewer’s interests. This is achieved by analyzing popular cultures and providing a scripture that can mimic a piece of inconsistent evidence regarding the social relationship between communities regardless of their positive and negative association with the consumption of that reality programs.
Most of the popular reality television shows have risen the observation of political aspects of our current and their achievements in our society (Baruh, 2010). Good leadership is considered one of the most important aspects of the development of our precious economy. By creating this self-awareness to our society be it a positive or a negative political practice such as misuse of power hence appropriate measures can be acquired over such practices.
