A temporary team refers to a team that is formed by organization members to solve a given problem. When the goal is achieved, the interim team is dissolved. Basically, a temporary team plays a vital part in the success of an organization. Since the group is formed for a short term period, it is used to solve some of the organization’s problems on the way. This means that for a temporary team to exist, there must be a purpose and objective to be achieved.
A temporal team’s primary characteristic is that its members do not know each other like in a permanent group. This may negatively affect the team because of their individual differences.one of the disadvantage of this team is that the level of interpersonal relationship is weak and may affect group unity. Secondly, there are minimal, strict rules, policies, and regulations to be followed by the team due to the available time; this aspect can negatively affect the organization. The member is only required to focus on the problem at hand to get its solution. Keeping this negativity aside temporary team can work effectively if managed well, and requirements are clearly stated (M., Dal Mas, F., Bontis, N., & Gerrard, B. 2019).
The key components of a temporary team are; flexibility ability this is the ability to deal with the NUMEROUS problem at a time. Secondly, is the ability to adapt to changes, a temporary team is formed due to a sudden crisis in an organization, and they need to adapt to changes that may come on the way. Thirdly is the ability to work with diverse members in a significant way (Glassop, L. I. 2002). As I have stated above, a temporary team composed of members from the different organizational departments to successfully achieve their goal must keep their differences apart and work in unity. A temporal team can affect the organization positively by shows an excellent example to other employees that different people can come together to solve a problem.
Temporally team also shares the work of the permanent team; this helps the organization achieve its target within a short time. By shearling, their knowledge and ideas they come up with the right decisions that the organization can use in the long term to meet similar problems (Zakaria, N., & Yusof, S. A. M. 2020).
In conclusion, a temporary team is a vital organ in the organization’s success even if they are formed for a short duration to achieve set objectives they relive the organization the excess workload and enhances the organization’s success.
