A Work Area recovery plan
A Work Area recovery plan is an important tool for any organization. The plan assists an organization to continue with its business operation in case of a disaster by making sure there are sustainability and cushions the business from losses. The plan is important since it helps in business restoration even after a disaster. Disasters can cause disruptions in the normal operations of a company. The policies and procedures set by a company are important in monitoring and maintaining information during a disaster. However, some organizations ignore the work area recovery plan and they risk the following in their organization. Loss of profits by the company since its operation takes a lot of time before resumption (Zabala, Martínez, Manzano & Vives, 2016). The operations taking place before a disaster will tend to be brought to a halt if there is no work area recovery plan. Depending on the size of the organization the cost of operations slowing down would lead to a loss of millions of dollars. The business not having a plan lead to business interruptions and in the end, the organization suffers the loss of productivity from its employees, the customers are worried about where they will acquire their services and lack of a plan means that most of your clients will move to other organization.
According to Zabala, Martínez, Manzano & Vives (2016) Organizations that do not have a work area recovery plan risk losing some of the best performing employees. The process of restoring business is too much that some employees prefer quitting the job instead of being fired or wait for a salary cut. A company needs to carry out a pandemic risk assessment to ensure that the safety of employees at the workplace is guaranteed. The safety of the employees is critical and safety issues need to be investigated. One of the benefits of carrying a pandemic risk assessment is that in the case of a disease is that the quality of work, as well as productivity, is maintained. Employees are trained to work from home or in a safe environment hence ensuring optimal productivity. It helps in keeping employees happier since their safety is taken care of (Belser, Barclay, Barr, Fouchier, Matsuyama, Nishiura & Yen, 2018). Employees continue working for the organization hence decreasing turnover. Due to business continuity even during the pandemic, it helps the company to generate income as well as save money which could have been used to pay for the hospital bills. Having a pandemic risk assessment helps your organization to maintain a positive image thus increasing opportunities for the company.
