Achievements of the MSN Program
From the MSN program, I have attained skills and competency on how to adhere to infection control practices as a way to protect patients from hospital-acquired infections. Also, I have enhanced my nursing career by developing expertise in physiology and epidemiology. The skills on infection prevention and control can make me an influential leader in future especially in a nursing management position.
Principles of epidemiology that can be employed to environmental risk assessment include distribution, determinants, specified population and application of the study in controlling the health problem. Understanding the distribution and determinant of hospital-acquired infections is significant so that the results can be applied when implementing an infection control program. When investigating the rate of infection transmissions in healthcare facilities, the main goal is preventing transmission of cases and identification of the primary sources of the infections. Therefore, it is important to apply principles of epidemiology in infection prevention and control program.
When determining the cost of implementing a project, scope items should be put under consideration because they include all the costs that will be required for successful project implementation. The costs of paying stakeholders and additional unplanned costs should also be included as part of a project budget. Costs in a project begin during the planning of the action ad end after complete implementation of the project. The costs are a coverage of all the activities that should be included in the project together with all the payments for involved stakeholders. In the salary, what is included is the labor cost and any bonuses that one attained during project implementation.
The responsible party for the salary of personnel who are involved in the new project development and implementation is the manager of the implementation team. The manager can either be a hospital administrator of hired team manager for the project.
