Active learning strategies can improve the speaking skills of eighth grade students
This study aims to prove that active learning strategies can improve the speaking skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Dako Pemean. The researcher used a pre-experimental design. The population of this research is eighth grade students and the sample is class B which consists of 26 students. Samples were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collected through oral tests. Pre-test and post-test are used to measure the improvement of students’ speaking skills before and after treatment. Based on the pre-test and post-test results, it was found that the value of the t-test was 6.920. By applying a significance level of 0.05 and a degree of freedom 25 (26-1), it was found that the t-table value was 2.060. That shows that the calculated t-value is greater than the t-table value.
