All team members are expected to treat each other with respect and dignity
Each of the team members should actively share information and knowledge regarding the project.
All the team members should indicate their contact information on the contact list and should ensure that the contact is reachable.
All team member should contact the team leader for any project related communication and not any other person.
All team members should attend team meetings and any conference call, and if not in a position to attend, the team manager or meeting organizer should be informed. In a case where the key contributor to the meeting is unable to attend the meeting, the meeting should be rescheduled.
Team members should be consulted before any plan is implemented. Any team member should be free to contribute ideas in any decision –making process concerning the project team.
All vacations or planned day off should be communicated before to the team leader so that the plan can be reviewed and any impact to the project can be included in the plan.
Team members should have a copy of the project plan and project logs so that they are updated on assigned tasks as well as due dates for each task.
Team members should notify their leader all the tasks, dependencies and duration that are not captured in the plan and any rising issue should be handled when they are new.
Team members should be free to inform the manager on any challenge experienced in completing task immediately it is identified. This will ensure a smooth running of the project where issues will be addressed on time.
Any task conflicting with another task should be communicated so that extra time can be offered for one task or one task is delegated to another team member.
During meetings, all key assumptions, decisions, and rules made must be documented so that they can be used as a point of reference as they allow completion of tasks on time.
All project team members should understand the scope of any project so that any task performed is part of the project. Any other task beyond the scope of the project should be communicated to the manager before it is executed.
Specific outcome if the conduct is violated
Any violation will be documented in the employee file. This will help the team account for the individuals who regularly violate the rules so that necessary actions can be taken. This protects the whole team from legal action.
Violation of any of the expectation will be associated with a serious punishment to the team member. Any first violation will come with a warning, but if the same is repeated twice, the team leader will decide on what step to take to avoid lagging the group behind. If the violation affects the team and not the organization, the team leader will handle it appropriately. But in case it affects the organization, the team leader will forward the complaint to the organization manager for appropriate action.
Team members who miss meetings without reason will be forced to get an extra task for the group as a punishment for not attending the meeting. When one fails to attend several meetings, the team leader will be forced to report the case to the organization, and that can result in termination.
