AN APPLICATION FOR A LECTURING JOB.
I am writing to apply for a lecturing position in the department of accounting and finance (investment finance) in the Higher Institute of Commerce and Technology (HICM) in response to the Head of State’s Special Recruitment of 500 University Teachers. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Calabar in Nigeria with a specialization in Finance, and I am fully expected to complete my PhD degree requirements by August 2020. I am extremely interested in obtaining a lecturing position in your University, where I can contribute to its focus on Accounting and Finance education, continue my research, and be a part of other academic activities on your campus.
My academic training and six years of experience working as an assistant lecturer in Banking and Finance prepare me to be an effective researcher and instructor in your school. I am a holder of a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance.
I have taught several courses, which include: principles of finance, Financial management, money and banking, Corporate finance, Risk management, and insurance,
Entrepreneurship and small business management, Bank management, and Financial service marketing at the Catholic University of Bamenda.
I am an effective instructor with a knack for making complex concepts easily understandable. My presentation style and speaking voice are clear concise and to the point. I am approachable and friendly and my students relate well to me. I have extensive knowledge in the field of Banking and Finance. I would love the opportunity to bring these attributes as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance to your University.
I am bilingual, task-driven, results-oriented, able to work under pressure; individually or as part of a team. I possess appropriate communication skills.
Given my motivation, intrinsic qualities, and professional capabilities, I shall undoubtedly make valuable contributions to the realization of the objectives of your institution if I am allowed to work as a Lecturer in your institution.
