Summary of the Article:
Anabolic steroids are majorly used in various pharmacological treatments and amateur sports. The article describes the biochemical effects of using the AS in the human body. Taking the wrong diet, together with the AS, will affect the testosterone hormone levels in the blood. Imbalanced testosterone levels due to AS use also affects the nervous system. Anabolic Steroid therapy may affect the cardiovascular system in the body. These effects include increased blood pressure, associative thrombotic complications, cardiac hypertrophy, and in extreme cases, heart failure. Furthermore, studies have shown that AS therapy also affects standard cognitive and emotional functioning. Also, the treatment affects the reproductive system leading to complications such as erectile dysfunction, infertility, and decreased libido.
