Analysis.
Approaches to the primary texts.
Before embarking on the actual research, I had to look into the most appropriate method of data collection. Considering my focus text required primary data to be collected, I decided to use quantitative research where the data that I gathered was turned into numeric figures. The approach calls for the development of the hypothesis with which the study will be trying to answer whether there was a relationship between the theory developed and the data that was collected. Questionnaires were designed to help in collecting data where they were administered to various individuals in the area of study. The data collected was then analyzed to give meaning and help in discussions and concluding.
Usefulness of the approach used
The use of a quantitative research approach helped in obtaining primary data that was later converted to numeric figures which could then be analyzed using computer software that helped in making decisions on the previously designed hypothesis. The approach enabled me to get to the individuals who are the subject of my focus text, get to identify the various phenomenon under my primary focus and be able to get clear relationships between those phenomena.
Target audience
The target audience in my primary texts were students who will use my research work as a source of reference as well as the those in the industries that fall under my focus text.
Benefits to the reader
Those who will be reading from my final paper will get additional knowledge on my original text that was not previously covered in depth or new insight into my area of focus.
Reflection
Experience from the research process
The whole research process was a good exposure as it gave me an insight into how to solve a problem in future as I continue to advance in my career. During the research, I had an inquiry that needed my effort to find a solution, which will aid in my area of study, adding more knowledge and helping people solve this kind of a problem in future using the recommendations I wrote on my research paper (Duncan & Fiske, 1977).
Frustrations encountered
There were frustrations in the process of carrying out research especially when gaining the background information of my focus text where there were fewer research works under this topic. Some of the respondents could not find time to share their knowledge that I needed to draw informed conclusions.
Most rewarding moment in research
The most rewarding part was after the analysis of the data that I had collected to bring meaning to my primary text. The verification of the hypothesis I had stated at the beginning of my research process came to have a basis within which I could nullify my hypothesis. It is the part that makes an individual feel like he or she was involved in a research paper.
What lesson was learnt from the research process?
I learnt that research is a continuous process that entails some hard times for one to accomplish his or her study. It demands resources regarding money and time. Choosing the right approach will determine the success of a project.
Did research help in one’s growth?
I have grown significantly by being exposed to the real world of research and the conditions pertaining research process. I am still working on the data analysis and various software that can be used to analyze data.
