Aspects fundamental in project planning
In terms of the definition, a successful project has been done within the budget. From this, I have realized that a project has an account within which operations are supposed to be pegged. This budget must be used by the project team that I will have to know in the coming readings. DuBois, Hanlon, Koch, Nyatuga, and Kerr (2015) reported that project managers check on a project budget. Therefore, the skills for estimation of costs might be applicable in a project. The estimation skill helps in project planning plus the budget limitations knowledge because the project manager makes the correct guess of the funds needed for a project. Financial plans for the project are initiated between the project team and the customer. The project manager ensures that the budget submitted to the customer for financial allocation to the budget is sufficient and efficient so that there will be no shortage as the project progresses before completion.
The customers are an essential asset in project management and project planning. They give the managers the work to be done. Besides being the project team’s employers, they are also used to evaluate a project’s success. Watt (2019) reported that a project’s success was measured by the customer’s level of satisfaction with the completed project. Therefore, it is advisable to put customer’s needs in project planning. An aspect that will help me achieve my project objective alongside satisfying the customer need.
As elucidated in the topic, the above aspects are fundamental in project planning as they are essential aids to project success. A project may not succeed to the required level when the budget is not drafted correctly. Underbudgeting or overbudgeting affects the project’s outcome, and this may be a let down to the customer. Customer expectations are also the determinants of what should be done to ensure that during the measurement of the project, there is a success as it is required. Customer satisfaction is a way of measuring the success of a project.
