Assessing Needs
The customers form the most crucial part of any business. A business generally defines its success depending on the satisfaction shown by the customers. Conducting needs assessment involves the use of several methods. However, I chose customer feedback as the best method to assess the needs of the business and the customers. Customers are always at the receiving end of the products of the business. Therefore, the quality of the products by a particular business can be assessed by the customers. The business’s quality-control department may not have the same taste as the customer, and the quality may be compromised. Moreover, customer feedback provides more insight into the weaknesses and strengths of a business.
Customers always provide constructive feedback to business despite the nature of the response. Some customers may prefer criticism over compliments. However, the business may put the feedback to productivity by assessing the weaknesses and strengths pointed out by the customers. Also, the response of customers towards the services provided by the business shows how efficient the business’s marketing strategies are and creates room for improvement. A business that overlooks customers’ feedback risks closing down since the customer network may eventually disappear. Besides, customer loyalty depends on the efforts that the business puts in retaining the customers. Unfortunately, the customer feedback may harm the business. The rate of response from customers may be low and may cost the business if useful responses are obtained after decisions are made. However, the risk is worth accepting because the decisions by the business generally depend on the feedback.
Technology
The training of employees is always aimed at ensuring that employees understand the goals of the company. Training involves several aspects of safety measures for machine operation. The introduction of technology in the workplace comes with additional training needs. Most of the technology in the workplace is sourced from outside, and employees have to be trained on the use of technology. Generally, technology comes with additional training requirements. Also, technology improves the training of employees. Training programs can be effectively offered to employees using technology, and that could save the company from having to hold manual training programs. Furthermore, the use of technology is essential in ensuring that time is not wasted in training and the business concentrates on more productive activities. Besides, technology allows employees to carry out self-training practices, which improve the productivity of the workplace. Moreover, technology may impact the roles and duties of an employee in the workplace.
The roles of employees in the workplace are greatly affected by technology. Technology may lower or increase the duties that are assigned to an employee. Generally, technology comes with additional roles such as the operation of machines, although it may reduce roles such as the automation of processes. Workplace workforce may reduce significantly in the long run due to technology. Also, the quality of the services delivered by employees may improve substantially if technology is efficiently employed. Also, the assignment of roles is improved through technology and employees have more specific duties. For example, the use of personal accounts can help to have specific roles for specific employees. Therefore, technology has a way of impacting the roles and duties assigned to employees. The impact on roles and responsibilities may be positive or negative.
