Factors to consider when selecting Project material
When developing and implementing a project, it is important to select the best and suitable material that will ensure project success. When selecting the material, all the stakeholders of the project should be included since selection of material is not a one-man project. The architect, project sponsors, contractors and owners of the project should be considered during selection of the materials as they all play a big role project. The cost of the material is also a factor to consider and this is included in feasibility study so that it can be within the budget. The quality of the material should also be considered and should meet the quality improvement project demands. The material should be testable for efficiency during project implementation. The material should not only meet the quality and suitability factor, but it should also be logical and easily stored in the facility.
Best Practices for Infection Prevention and Control Programs
The increased rate of Hospital-acquired infections necessitates programs that will control infections and minimize transmission from one patient to another. To minimize infections, infection prevention and control programs recommend practices such as hand hygiene and this should form part of the organization culture. Hand hygiene is the simplest though in most cases, it is ignored or done in a less appropriate manner. Environmental hygiene is the other practice and this calls for proper decontamination of the area or work to minimize spread of infections. A vaccination is the other practice that protects healthcare workers from contracting infections from their workplace. Patients screening and cohorting is another proposed practice that will control spread of infections in a healthcare facility. Screening of patients allows separation of more infected patients to prevent reinfections of patients within the same wards. Care coordination is another practice that protect healthcare providers from contacting infections from daily practices.
