Assignment 7 Discussion A
Design a Surveillance System
An executive summary includes all the parts of the project, and it should be written as the last thing. Although it is done as the last thing, writing it is a challenge since one has to be specific in what is included in the project. The challenges that I faced when preparing the executive summary of the final project included being realistic about the outcome. An executive summary should include the specific outcome of the project, and the determination of the outcome is the most challenging thing when developing the executive summary. Finding the right amount of flexibility is another challenging aspect when developing an executive summary. The executive summary should be flexible and determining the level of flexibility is a challenge likely to occur during the final project. Another challenge likely to occur is planning for technological changes. Technological change is inevitable in any project implementation and creating a room for change should be captured in an executive summary.
The questions I have that will help in the presentation of the project to the preferred organization is whether it will meet the desired goal of infection prevention and control. The project is expected to minimize infections transmission and to protect healthcare providers from hospital-acquired infections. My other question is whether the program will be completely implemented in the preferred organization due to the expected costs of implementation. The likelihood of successful project implementation is low especially if the users will not be involved in the implementation. The last question is whether the government will support the project so that it can be implemented in the organization. For successful project implementation, government support is required for funding and providing training programs associated with the project.
