- Research Topic
I want to study about Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder among children because I want to find out about the impact of the condition in the mental development of a child. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is a medical condition that develops as a result of the difference in brain development and brain activity. The disease affects the attention, self-control, and ability to be calm in an individual. Children are mostly affected while in school, at home, and even in friendships. Several signs are that can give the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.
Children with this condition are likely to be inattentive. They will experience difficulty concentrating or paying attention and staying at a task. Often they will look absent-minded, appear to be daydreaming, and may not finish tasks given them (Graham, Fishman, Reid, & Hebert, 2016). The child may also be hyperactive in that they cannot sit still, fidget, and become restless. They tend to be easily bored, and stay quiet, make mistakes carelessly by rushing through things. The third sign is that they tend to be impulsive in that they act before thinking about what they are doing. The child may take something without permission or even work in risky ways, including coercing other children.
- Research Questions
The Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is a condition that has been proven to develop from an early age, while a child still grows. The behavior of the child can identify the disease. Education institutions are the most effective in studying this topic as this is the pace the child spends most of the time. To find out the impact of ADHD on children’s mental development, sample questions are formulated, with a particular study on pupils from the District of Columbia. The research questions are:
- What is the impact of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder on an individual’s academic success?
- Why do children who attend a pupil’s scheme in the District of Columbia have the lowest academic achievement in their study?
- Have races and sexes affected the education environment today?
- Evaluation of Research Questions
The questions are formulated based on their feasibility. This is the practicality of the research to be fusional and produce results. It also evaluates the ease of doing it. The use of District of Columbia pupil makes the study feasible as the population is definite is accessible. The questions are also based on research that has been done by psychologists in trying to explain the restlessness and lack of attention among children. The interest is that the developments tend to transfer into the adulthood life of the individual and tremendous effects of how they handle staff.
The significance of the study is that it attempts to find out if Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder can be a cause of low academic performance among students. This is because; this is a condition that often is caused by the social environment, which influences perception, which is programmed by the mind. The reason for using children is that it can be controlled hopefully since they are still developing.
In conclusion, the research’s main attempt is to find out the impact of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder on the mental development of children. This would follow the academic performance in their schools. The focus on Columbia District is because most children exhibit the signs of the disorder and, therefore, can be connected to some normal social thing.
